Wednesday is for J, who I hope moves to San Francisco soon.

Tuesday is for G, the wonderful party responsible for this residency.

For my time in the Morning Drawing Residency, I wanted to motivate myself to be more productive and a better friend. I turned to my copy of Symbol Sourcebook, a strange encyclopedia of circles, triangles and arrows. In it, I found international flags to represent the first letters of my friends’ first names and astrological symbols for the days of the week.

I will make hand-painted postcards for each day of the residency, specific to the person they are sent to and the day they are sent.

We will begin with my dear friend K and Monday. We used to see each other at least once a week, but now live on opposite sides of the country. All postcards are gouache on paper, 6 x 4 inches.
